Aeration Systems are a foundational pre-treatment solution used across water and wastewater treatment to eliminate dissolved contaminants like iron, hydrogen sulfide, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and harmful gases. This process introduces finely dispersed air bubbles, initiating oxidation and particulate disaggregation that enhance downstream processes such as filtration or flotation.

How Aeration Systems Work
Compressed air is introduced into water via diffusers—often fine-bubble (< 3 mm) or coarse-bubble (> 5 mm) types typically installed near the tank bottom. Fine-bubble diffusers provide superior Standard Oxygen Transfer Efficiency (SOTE), offering more surface contact time and energy savings.
As bubbles rise, dissolved metals oxidize and gases are stripped—enabling particulate precipitates to form or gases to vent naturally. Customized diffuser grids and cascade designs ensure optimal air/water contact and mixing.
