Overview
Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) systems are engineered to clarify industrial and municipal water streams by introducing micro-bubbles that adhere to suspended solids and contaminants—lifting them to the surface for removal. This process delivers high-quality effluent while maintaining a compact footprint and faster startup compared to traditional sedimentation.
DAF is ideal for applications with fine particulates, oils, greases, or organic loads, delivering high performance results across food & beverage, pulp & paper, mining, petrochemical, agricultural, andwastewater sectors.

How DAF Systems Work
A portion of clarified effluent is recirculated and pressurised in a saturation vessel (whitewater tank), where compressed air dissolves into the water under pressure. When released into the flotation tank at atmospheric conditions, the air forms micro-bubbles—typically between 10 and 80 microns—which attach to flocculated solids.
These aggregates float to the surface, forming a sludge layer that is mechanically removed by a scraper. Clarified water exits via surface weirs. Dosing with coagulants and flocculants enhances separation, especially in low-density or colloidal streams.
Cube Consolidating’s systems use specialised nozzle and tank designs to optimise bubble size and flotation kinetics, achieving rise rates up to eight times greater than traditional clarifiers.
